Aww, that's too bad. :/ I know how you feel! We've been working on Blackhorn heroic for a couple of weeks. Second to last raid we were getting to last phase pretty steadily, and we had one go where we got Goriona to fly away, and then got Blackhorn down to 50 %. Then we had last raid before nerf yesterday, and we just plainly sucked. It was terrible... Anyway; my point is that I'm happy about the steady nerfs, cause I suspect that's the only chance we have of seeing and perhaps downing Spine and Madness. But it kind of sucks when you're pretty close on something, and at least as close as you guys were! I haven't experienced that bug myself, but some in my team have. Not fun at all ofc. I hope you'll enjoy the kill next week anyway!Lae
It sounds like you're pushing your button too early. To maximize your DPS, you should aim to be pushing the button with about 1 second left on the cast time. If you have high latency (or are not confident in your ability to cut it close), aim for 2-3 seconds. If you push it the second he begins the cast, you'll be teleported back into the twilight realm before Hour of Twilight finishes casting and die.
Latency can be hell on some people. There is one person in my guild we have to call out on vent when for them to click because they always die otherwise. They say, when they hear 4 they are dead, which can only mean latency issue there.Sucks we have to play announcer for them, but my guild is not hard core so we are not going to leave someone out just because they have issues with one fight. We learned to deal with it maybe your guild could help you the same way we do it.
@Zanbon: I'm not pushing the button early - according to the server I'm pushing it too late (or rather, it's not registering me pushing it at all, even though on the client side I get a cooldown). In fact, if I left it until 1sec as you suggest, there is no WAY I'd get it on time. I was aiming for 2-3sec and got pwned 4 times (out of maybe...30 button pushes?) in our 11 tries last night; 4sec is probably going to be my safest bet.
I have had that happen to me as well. These days I don't bother cutting anything close any more. If I'm fading lighted, I click at 3secs. Hour of twilight, I click with one 3rd of his cast bar left.I used to do it with 1sec and 1/5th the castbar (respectively), but there's no DPS need to squeeze out every last 1-3k dps. Certainly not anymore!
